What Laguna Beach does to a window
Laguna Beach is built on the hills that drop straight into the ocean, so the whole town faces the water and the whole town takes the salt. The gated coves at Emerald Bay, Irvine Cove, Three Arch Bay and Lagunita and the bluff streets at Victoria Beach and Woods Cove get the surf spray directly, and the salt dries on the west glass as a white haze within two or three weeks of a clean. Higher up, in Top of the World, Bluebird Canyon, Mystic Hills and Arch Beach Heights, the marine layer does the work, sitting on the hills most mornings from May through July and leaving a damp salt film on the view windows that shows at sunset.
South of town the coast keeps going. Monarch Beach, Monarch Bay, Ritz Cove and Niguel Shores in Dana Point sit on the bluffs over Salt Creek Beach and take the same spray, and the homes up the hill in Laguna Niguel, in Bear Brand, Ocean Ranch and along Pacific Island Drive, get the marine layer and the view-glass dust from the open hills behind them. Add us to your gate list or give us the procedure when you book, and we send a text the morning of each visit so you know when we are coming.
Can you reach the glass on a hillside house that steps down the slope?
Yes. Most Laguna homes are three or four stories on the downhill side with decks, glass railings and view windows over the water, and we clean them with water-fed poles from the ground, the decks and the stairs, and ladders only where the footing is safe. Tell us the number of stories on the ocean side on the quote form so we bring the right equipment.
